News Update August 2010

Due to increased admin costs, we have been applying a £5.00 admin charge to some procedures since the 1st July 2010. This was forced on us by the amount of paper that is generated with nearly all transactions, and also the increased cost of postage. I'm afraid that as most industries are trying to reach a Paperless society, the Financial Services Authority appear to want to demolish a rain forest in the very near future!

However, there are NO admin fees with new transactions, so if you require a quote, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01457-869153.

Also, there were two items imposed at the last budget which, unfortunately, will affect Insurance premiums. The increase in VAT to 20% applied to Travel Insurance policies, and the Government also sneaked through an increase in Insurance Premium Tax from 5% to 6%. This affects everything otherthan Travel Insurance.

Finally, and nothing to do with work at all, I became a Grandad on the 23rd July 2010. Alex Barraclough was born at Chesterfield Hospital and weighed in at 8lb 4oz. Although he was fine his mum, my daughter, had a few problems but both are now fine and dandy now. 50 year old and a Grandad in the same year. Doesn't time fly!
